Using adaptive technology like Trailrider chairs and the power of human support, the Foundation makes inaccessible adventures possible. The Lockwood Foundation is committed to changing the narrative on what people with disabilities can achieve outdoors. Our community advocate, Sonja Baker, is an avid participant in their programming and can speak to the power of their outreach.

It is a local learning community focused on co-learning skills that are often not taught in K-12. ZLA also hosts “New Earth Learning Circles'' – where everyone is a teacher and a learner! Choosing “An earth in every classroom . . . an earth in every church”:  We partner with EarthSeeds to provide unique educational experiences about appreciating Earth and our interconnectedness. By showing authentic Earth images (some of the first we had from NASA) we are able to inspire people to think about their place in the Universe. We also co-wrote and produced an original play called Spaceship Earth, based on a concept from a book written by EarthSeeds’ founder, Mark Joyous; it was intended to promote unity and diversity, dignity, inclusion and destiny. We look forward to more opportunities to learn together & host retreat space across the globe!
